Big Shot a Billy Joel Tribute band featuring Michael DelGuidice sponsored by Suffolk County Legislator Bill Lindsay was held July 2nd at The Common Ground. Several thousand people together with most of Sayville and its surrounding neighbors attended the joy-filled musical event at The Common Ground. It was a PERFECT night and great example of what the rest of the season will be like!!! Don't miss the next event and join us on Wednesday for the Atlantic Wind Symphony! Below are pictures from last night's show.

The tragic events of September 11, 2001 inspired a group of community members to create a reflective garden dedicated to the memory of those who were lost. Now with the graceful gardens, walkways of personalized stones, memorial benches, The Peace Labyrinth and The Pamela Raymond Performance Pavilion, it has become greater than the dream.

This is a place of peace, joy and inspiration for everyone, a place where life is celebrated and people are encouraged to meet their neighbors to connect as a community.  This park was built through volunteer efforts, support from the Town of Islip, grants from Suffolk County, and generous donations from community members.

The Common Ground has been created by the Community for the Community.

Purchase an engraved paving stone to be placed in one of the walkways. The paving stones provide the personality of the park and represent the community in a personal and individualized way to honor family names, weddings, births, remembering loved ones past and present or sharing bits of humor and wisdom.

The cost of each stone is $65.00. Stones may be engraved with up to three lines with 14 characters per line (including spaces and punctuation). Multiple stones may be used to accommodate larger messages. Click on the “Buy a Brick” link to learn more and to download a form for purchasing your own brick.
