Gardening with the Purple Lady

THE COMMON GROUND GARDENING SCHEDULE 2008

Please join us! Many hands make light work, and we have so much fun while tending the gardens. Tools are available and so are gloves, just bring your eagerness to learn and share what you know or want to know about gardening.

For those of you who feel you aren’t physically able, I bring books related to that week’s activity/topic for you to peruse. Don’t like to garden but want to be involved? You can sweep the pathways. Young children with parents are welcome, too. Since the gardens are handled organically they are safe for everyone and attract wonderful butterflies and other beneficial insects. Think of how good you will feel when you are enjoying the concerts at The Common Ground, knowing that you have had a hand in helping them become even more beautiful to behold. Our gardeners often leave with cuttings, divisions, flowers and seeds to enjoy at their own homes.

Participate in free, hands-on gardening classes facilitated by Sayville’s own Purple Lady, Master Gardener Nancy Angermaier. Classes are held on the first and third Saturdays of every month from 9:00 to 11:00 am May - November except for May 3rd, July 5th and Aug. 2nd. All ages and skill levels are welcome to help with gardening in the park. Please bring basic gardening tools and join us in this beautiful community park.
